WC-55 Tank Buster
The Dodge WC series were light military trucks made by Dodge and Fargo in World War II. They included various types like weapon carriers, ambulances, and command cars. The Dodge M-series replaced them after the war. The WC model code stood for W in 1941 and C for half-ton. The C code stayed for larger Dodges. One model, the M6 Gun Motor Carriage, was a modified Dodge WC52 truck with a small anti-tank gun. It served the US Army for infantry support and anti-tank purposes from late 1942 to January 1945 in different theaters during WWII. The gun faced backward and shot armor-piercing rounds that could penetrate 1.4 inches of armor at 500 yards, with the vehicle carrying 80 rounds of ammunition.
